The Founding Values of the PLD
Most of the fifteen founding values of the PLD are paradoxical, presenting apparent contradictions integrated with one another.

1. Community integrated with and respectful of autonomy. The best interests of the group integrated and respectful of the best interests of the individual.
2. Integrity, meaning the inside of a person is congruent with the outside of a person. This does not mean you act like a good, honest person. Rather, you are who you are, maybe good, maybe not so good.
3. Transparency by choice and with mutuality is an essential component of relational vibrancy.
4. Conflict is a welcome and essential ingredient to healthy relationships. It makes us stronger and more loving.
5. The complete and absolute equality of gender is made real in the deep understanding and application of each gender’s similar yet unique contribution to the success of our world’s mission.
6. No one man or woman can hold more than a single mantle of power within the three triadic communities of the Founding Mothers, the PROMUSESS, and the Tocomes.
7. The high call of making a positive difference in the lives of others, if necessary at our own expense and sacrifice.
8. The high call of acknowledging our vulnerabilities and weakness and our yearning for secure attachments within and outside of family.
9. The high call of leaving a small footprint on our natural world even if it leads to lost opportunities.
10. Technology will complement but never replace human initiative and responsibility for ensuring personal and community well-being.
11. Gratefulness and victory, challenge and defeat, emerge from the same place in our spirit.
12. Laugh in the midst of loss, and reflect in the midst of celebration.
13. Uphold the best of the past while embracing the best of the future.
14. Always plan at least six generations out, also never farther than thirty years.
15. To win is to lose if another’s spirit is damaged in your victory.
